Stately evergreen conifer has stiff, horizontal branches forming a broadly pyramidal shape. Bark is scaly, purplish/gray and shoots are orange/brown. Bluish/ gray/green leaves are needle-like and are covered in a glaucous wax. Montgomery is a dwarf cultivar that is slow growing and has silvery/gray/blue needles and a broad pyramidal habit.
